Sopris CrossFit 101: Getting Started
Step 1: Schedule your first Base Camp* class.
Base Camp is designed to introduce you to Sopris CrossFit and let you know what to expect moving forward. This programming allows you to develop and reinforce proper fundamental body mechanics and develop at a pace suitable for your level of fitness. Once you’ve completed your first class, you will be familiar with the facility, trainers(s) and some new movements…not to mention, you will have your very first CrossFit workout under your belt! Bring workout clothes, a water bottle and even a friend or two.
Step 2: Sign up for one month of Base Camp.
Your trainer will coach you to ensure you have the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to safely take your fitness to the next level. Workouts will be centered around the WOD (workout of the day) and scaled in some fashion to be the most effective.
Step 3: Decide between two options.
Once you have completed your first month of Base Camp, you have some options. If you and your coach conclude that you are ready for the next level, you will move into our traditional CrossFit Class program. If you and your coach decide you need more time in Base Camp, you will stay in Base Camp until you feel comfortable with taking the next step.
Step 4: Jump into the CrossFit community.
Your journey has just begun. You will thrive in the community of like-minded individuals who have decided mediocrity just isn’t good enough. Our community trains hard and plays harder. From team workouts on the weekends, to social gatherings for any given occasion, Sopris CrossFit is more than a gym – it’s a lifestyle.
Step 5: Educate yourself
CrossFit isn’t just about physical fitness. Sopris CrossFit will supply you with opportunities to educate yourself in nutrition, injury prevention and more. It will be up to you to take advantage of these extras!
No matter what class(es) you choose, Sopris CrossFit invites you to experience the CrossFit regimen in a supportive, communal setting, where camaraderie always comes first.

*The purpose of Base Camp: CrossFit has some technical movements, and we don’t intend to throw you into something for which you’re not ready. CrossFit takes practice, and Base Camp focuses on proficiency and consistency before intensity.
