Sopris CrossFit provides specialized programming which allows you to develop and reinforce proper fundamental body mechanics and progress at a pace suitable for your level of fitness. Getto know the facility, trainers and basic movements, and establish a strong foundation to helpyou achieve your fitness goals.

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work divided by time—or power. The more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness. Read here for more information.

Base Camp

If you’re new to CrossFit, Base Camp is the place to start to become familiar with the movements and to learn proper body mechanics. These classes focus on proficiency and consistency before intensity. We teach you how to perform the nine fundamental movements of CrossFit –air squat, front squat, overhead squat, shoulder press, push press, push jerk, deadlift, sumo deadlift high-pull and cleans—as well as other common exercises with proper form and positioning. Base Camp always provides a great workout, and gets you comfortable with how a CrossFit class is run.

Unloaded is just like CrossFit, but without barbells or technical lifting. These classes are programmed using the same principles of constantly varied, high-intensity functional movement as our regular CrossFit classes. Typical workouts will consist of running, rowing, air squats, push-ups, pull-ups, lunges and gymnastics, as well as weighted movements using kettle bells, medicine balls, dumbbells and tires. As is the case in our regular CrossFitclasses, all exercises can be scaled for various fitness levels and strengths. Don't be fooled, though, these workouts will not be any easier -just different. Classes will be the normal one hour. Expect to have fun, gain strength, improve your fitness, increase your confidence and work out with friends! CrossFitUnloadedis perfect for everyone, from first-time athletes to experienced CrossFitters.
